Lismore Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2020 Greyton

Since a devasting wildfire obliterated Sam O'Keefe's winery in 2019, the fruit for this wine is sourced from the multitude of friends and colleagues who not only helped Sam, one of South Africa's brightest stars, get back on her feet, but also demonstrated the camaraderie and passion that makes the wines of the Cape so special. This is a stunning, savoury interpretation of chardonnay from this estate off the beaten track in South Africa, all oatmeal, toasty orchard fruit, spice and controlled opulence. The nearest analogy would be a top Meursault, except this is a fraction of the price. We cannot recommend it highly enough for lovers of fine Burgundy.
