Canberra may not be the first region in Australia you think of when you think of wine, but Clonakilla has established quite the name for themselves by creating beautiful wines from grapes grown on the hill tops of Australia's capital. Dark plums and blackberry blend with black pepper, overlaid on a smooth velvety texture, gained from 12 months in French oak barrels. This is a Shiraz from a cool climate, so think more of a Syrah from Crozes Hermitage rather than a super ripe powerful Shiraz from the Barossa Valley
