Damilano Barolo Cerequio 2013

Next door to Brunate, Cerequio is a 24 hectare cru, of which Damilano owns a small part. Their vineyards have an ideal south-western exposure and the resulting wines are perfumed with fennel seeds, dried red fruits and a touch of Spanish cedar. The tannins are fine and crisp and the wine finishes on a note of cured meats. This is a superb vintage with many years ahead of it, but it is now starting to drink beautifully. Highly recommended.
