Sperino Lessona 2015

The family estate of Paolo di Marchi of the famous Isole e Olena estate in Chianti, Sperino has recently been rehabilitated after some time in decline and sports the classic blend of nebbiolo, vespolina and croatina that is so common in these subalpine regions of Italy. Their Lessona is a classic example of this small appellation, with some complex, ripe red fruit that leans towards the classic dusty red cherries of nebbiolo, alongside some cinnamon and nutmeg spice and firm, ripe tannins towards the finish.
