Tolpuddle Coal River Valley Chardonnay 2022 Tasmania

We were stunned by the quality of this wine when we first tasted it. Unlike many chardonnays outside of Burgundy it has that precise, concentrated focus, and tautness and energy at the core, thanks to vines planted in a cold but surprisingly dry and sunny site where the growing season is long and slow. Lemon, stones and salt integrate beautifully in this muscular but lean white that will appeal to lovers of fine Puligny or Grand Cru Chablis.
