Hiruzta Hondarrabi Zuri Getariako Txakolina 2023 Basque Country

With the Hiruzta project the Rekalde family sought to restore wine production to the town of Hondarribia, which lends its name to the main grape variety of Txakoli white wines, Hondarrabi Zuri. This is really excellent with a characteristic prickle on the tongue, crunchy green apple, flinty aromas, mouthwatering lemony acidity and a touch of white pepper. Textbook wine from the verdant hills just up the coast from San Sebastian, and superb with anchovies, fish and chips, and spicy Gordal olives.
