Ardnamurchan Sherry Cask (July 2023) 46% Western Highlands

A limited release, this combines whiskies matured in first fill oloroso hogsheads, butts and octaves (those are all sizes of cask, by the way) as well as first fill PX casks. There are peated and unpeated malts here, but the overall impression is of a rich, traditional Highland sherried malt with classic fruitcake and malt bread flavours, with complexity, richness and length. Quite simply, a lot of fun and hard to resist.
