Toffoli Societa Agricola S.S
Vincenzo Toffoli began his career in winemaking as a skilled nurseryman, grafting the vines and working on the selection of clones in the 1950s. Times were hard and he was forced to emigrate to England briefly, where he worked as a gardener, before returning to his wife's home town of Refrontolo and purchasing a smallholding of 5ha. At the beginning he had to supplement the income from the vineyard with dairy farming, forestry and farming silk worms. The hard work paid off, however, and the estate has grown to 21ha now under the capable management of his three sons. Careful and respectful work in the vineyard is complemented by attention to detail in the winery to produce light, fresh and eminently drinkable wines.
