The resonant Pinot Noirs of Pommard are on the rise, the high clay content in the soil offering cooling respite and excellent water retention in the increasingly heat stressed summers.  Pommard wines tend to be the most bassy of the Côte d’Or reds but wine makers like Laurent have taken their foot off the pedal so theirs offers plenty of lacy delicacy to energise the darker core. This will benefit from 3-5 more years if you’re patient.
