Domaine Weinbach, Alsace

In the valley of Kayserberg, at the foot of the imposing grand cru of Schlossberg and the gentler slopes of Mambourg, lies Domaine Weinbach encircled by the walled Clos des Capucins, the vineyard developed by the Franciscan friars who lived here until the estate's secularisationat the revolution.  Under the ownership of the Fallerfamily, who acquired the domaine in 1898, Weinbach has become one of Alsace's best known and most iconic producers.

Making wines exclusively from their own grapes, quality is paramount and the work in the vineyards is painstaking. Since 2005 the entire estate has been farmed on biodynamic principles, with certification from Ecocert and Demeter. Weinbach's Gentil is their take on the traditional blend of Alsace grapes.  A confidential cuvée normally found exclusively in restaurants around Alsace, this is finally available in the UK, only through us.
